Chapter 42

 Sidney turns onto the same street that Mario lives on as we pass by his house. The houses were becoming further apart and further from the street as Sidney turns to the right, up hill.

“Are we almost there?,” I ask as he glances over to me.

“Almost,” Sidney says as he releases my hand as he turns to the left down a driveway. Another car is down there, must be the realtor.

Sidney parks behind the car as he puts it in park.

“Ready?,” Sidney asks as he takes the keys out.

“Yes,” I say as I open the door and get out.

I walk to the front of the Range Rover before Sidney grabs my hand as we head in to the garage.

“Sidney, glad you could make it. And your that new player for the Tigers this year, Aaylah right?,” she asks.

“Yes, that would be me,”

“It’s a pleasure, I’m Debbie. So is this just for you two or is there anyone else coming?,” she asks.

“Just us, it’ll be a house for us,” Sidney says.

“Well, come on in,” Debbie says as we follow her to the door. Sidney lets go of my hand and makes me walk in before him.

 

We enter the part before the kitchen as I follow Debbie into the kitchen. She is explaining everything as I turn around to see Sidney walking over without his shoes on. We follow Debbie into the living room. It’s so big and spacious. The ceiling goes all the way up as I turn and see the stairs and second story. I walk over to the door and look out to see a balony and the woods behind it. I also see a pool to the left that is fenced in. I already love this house. Debbie shows us a bathroom and a bedroom on the main level. She then takes us downstairs and it is a big finished basement.

 

“Wow,” I say.

“We could have a living room upstairs and make this the TV room/game room,” Sidney says.

“We could, if we buy it,”

“I know you like it Aaylah,”

We head back up stairs then to the actual upstairs. There are two more bedrooms along with the Master bedroom. The master is just big enough as it has its own bathroom and two closets.

“So what do you two thinks?” Debbie asks as we walk out of the master bedroom.

“We will take it,” Sidney says as he looks over at me.

“Congratulations. Let’s come downstairs and fill out some paperwork. Will the house with in one or both of your names?,” Debbie asks.

“Both,” I say as we head down the stairs and pass the living room into the kitchen.

“Okay, great. Give me a minute to go outside and get the paperwork,” Debbie says as she heads for the door.

I look over to Sidney as he walks over to me, pining me against the counter. He places his hands on the counter before he leans over and kisses me. My arms wrap around him as he releases me.

“So you knew I wanted this house?,” I ask.

“Yes, but I fell in love with it too,” Sidney says.

“Once we sign this, we are locked together,”

“Think I can handle that,”

Debbie walks back in with the paperwork as she places it on the counter. We fill out the paperwork together as we both sign it.

“Ok, now we need the check along with your twos ID’s,” Debbie says.

“I’ll be right back,” Sidney says as he walks over to the door. He places on his shoes and walk out. I pull out my ID as I hand it to her.

“Ok, so you from here?,” she asks.

“Yes ma’am I am. North Versailles,” I say.

“What lead you to come over to this side?,”

She hands me back my ID after taking a picture of it.

“I moved in with my friend, who lives on this side of town,”

“Ahh I understand,”

Sidney walks back into the kitchen as he lays down a check and his ID.

“Here you go,” Sidney says.

“Thank you. Sid this is over the asking price,” Debbie says.

“I know, I really want to buy this house,” Sidney says.

“Well I think the owner will accept this. I will call you back in a day or so,” she says.

“That sounds good,”

“Mr. Crosby, Ms. Thomason,”

We walk out of the house through the garage.

“You think we will get it?,” I ask as he squeezes my hand.

“I think so,” Sidney says as he walk over and opens my door.

“Thank you sir Crosby,”

He leans over and kisses me before I get in. He closes the door as he walks around to get into the driver’s seat. Before he places on his seat belt, he leans over the middle and gives me another kiss.

 

“Your being very flirty today,” I say.

“Good or bad?,” Sidney asks as he starts up the car.

“Good of course,”

He grabs my hand as he backs out one handed and goes back the way we came.

 

“Good, alteast we don’t have a long drive ahead,”

He stops at the stop sign as he turns left, heading towards Mario’s house.

 

“True,”

Sidney turns left into the driveway as he places in the passcode. It opens up as he drives through. He turns his wheel as he parks in the same place as before. I unbuckle my seat as he turns off the car. He still has my hand as I try to move it to get out.

 

“Your planning something,” I say as he lets it go.

“Always have something up my sleeve when it comes to you,” Sidney says as he exits out of the car. He comes around to open my door.

“Your full of it Sidney,”

I take his hand as he helps me get out of the car. He pushes the door shut as he grabs my hand. He leads the way down the sidewalk and up to the front door. Reaching, he grabs the knob and opens the door.

 

“My lady,” Sidney says as I walk in and find everyone in the living room. I spot Autumn in Troy’s arms, sleeping.

“We heard you had a good game,” Nat says as I walk over to Troy who is getting up.

“I did. Thank you all for watching her,” I say as Troy gently places her into my arms.

“We were happy too. She was an angel,” Nat says as I walk over to her. I reach my other arm out to give her a hug.

“Kris and LC are in your wing Sidney,” Nat says.

“Okay,” Sidney says as I head that way with him right behind me as he leans over to open the door.

“Thank you,” I say as I walk in and see them on the couch with Mason on the floor.

“Hey your back! Awesome game,” LC says as she gets up from her spot.

“Thanks,” I say as I walk over to the couch and take a seat were Mason was sitting at.

“So how did it go?,” LC asks as Sidney takes a seat besides me.

“We will know something tomorrow or Tuesday,” Sidney says.

“I’m sorry we bailed out on you two,” LC says.

“It’s alright, I understand why,” I say.

I look down at Autumn as she starts to stir.

“Can someone go and get her diaper bag please,” I ask.

“I will,” LC says as she gets up and walks out.

“I was going too but she got it before me,” Sidney says.

“Aaylah, she is out of formula and has a diaper left,” LC says coming back into the wing.

“Guess, I’m going to the store,” I say as I get up and head back to Sidney’s room. I find Autumn’s car seat by the nightstand as he strap her into it. Her eyes open.

“Hey baby girl, want to go on a ride with mommy?,” I ask as her eyes blink.

“Take that as a yes,”

I pick it up as I make my way back to the living room.

“Sidney can I drive your Range Rover?,” I ask as he gets up and walks over to me.

“Sure, be careful,” Sidney says as he gives me a kiss before giving me the keys.

“I will, Love you,”

“Love you too,”

I walk out of the door as I walk in the living room of the main house.

 

“Where you off too?,” Mario asks as he noticed me.

“Going to the store for some stuff for Autumn,” I say.

“We can keep her if you’d like,” Nat says.

“Thanks but I got her. I’ll be back in a few,” I say as I head for the front door.

 

Opening it, I walk out and head over to the Range Rover as I click it unlock. Walking over to the left back passenger door, I open it and place autumn into the base, which was in the middle. I close one door and open another to get in. I place the key in and start up the car.

After adjusting everything, I place the car in the reverse as I make my way down to the gate. I press in the code as the gate opens letting me get onto the main street. It feels weird driving this, but my car is at my apartment. I probably need to move that soon along with the Toyota.

After driving 5 minutes, I pull into the Kroger parking lot as I park in one of the close parking spots to the store.

 

“We are here baby girl,” I say as I place the car in park and turn it off.

Getting out, I close one door and open the other. I check on her as her eyes are bright and open.

 

“Hi baby girl,” I say as I get her out of the base as I close the door. Using the flob, I lock the doors up before placing it into my pocket.

I walk across the lot as I walk into the store. I decide to grab a basket and not a shopping cart. I make my way over to the baby section as I pull a big can of her formula in it along with two packs of diapers.

 

“That should we enough to get us by. Let’s go grab a few other things,”

I walk all over the store as I pick up a few snacks for me and some personal items like shampoo, conditioner and body wash. Walking in the line, I place my basket on the belt.

 

“Good afternoon ma’am,” She says.

“Good afternoon,” I say as I pull out my wallet and hand her my Krogers card.

“Thank you, that’s a cute baby. So alert,” she says as I look down and see her eyes focused.

“Thank you,”

“How old?,”

“A few months old at least,”

“Ahh I gotacha, well total is 120.65,”

I swipe my card as I do everything on the screen. I place my card back into my wallet then my wallet into my pants.

“Here you go, have a good one,” she hands me my recepit as I place it into the bag.

“You too,”

I walk out with bags in one hand and Autumn in the other. I walk over to the Range Rover as I set the bags down to grab the flob out so I can unlock it. Once unlocked, I place Autumn in as she lets out a smile.

 

“Aww, we will go back so you can have a bottle,” I say as I get the groceries.

 

Closing the back door, I open the front door as I get in. Closing the door, I start up the car as my phone goes off. I reach into my pocket as I retrieve it. I see it says Sidney as I hit the green button.

 

“Yes,” I say as I buckle up.

“Everything going okay?,” Sidney asks.

“Yes,”

I back out as drive out of the parking lot to the light.

 

“Good, Autumn okay too?,”

“Yes Sidney, we both are fine. We just left Krogers so we are heading back,”

 

I turn onto the road as I see a car speeding pass and I knew I’m getting hit.

 

“Hang up and call 911,”

The car hits me on the right side as the car goes spinning. I am screaming as the car stops. Autumn is screaming furiously. The airbags didn’t go off but my phone flew. Looking around, I unbuckle as I turn and make sure nothing is around her. Nothing is but the damage is bad on the right side.

 

“You okay in there?,” A man asks as he opens the door.

“Yeah, get my baby please,” I say as he goes to the door to grab Autumn.

He returns as I see nothing on her.

“Autumn,” I say as I get out of the car and start to unbuckle her out of it. Getting her into my arms, I hear sirens coming.

“Thank you,” I say.

“Your welcome, how about we move away from the car. It is draining fluids,” he says as I take Autumn and head back into the parking lot.

The firefigthers get here just as I watch Sidney’s Range Rover blow up. He’s never going to trust me again. The ambluence and police head into the parking lot as I knew we need to get checked out. So once the ambluence stops, I walk over that way. A paramedic steps out.

 

“I need to be checked out along with her,” I say.

“You involved in the accident?,” she asks.

“Yes ma’am,”

“Follow me,”

We walk to the back of the amblunce as the door opens.

 

“Come on in,” A male says as I get in as I sit in the bed with Autumn. She has calmed down from the accident as I look down and her eyes are on me.

“I’m sorry baby girl,” I say.

We both get an examination and got the clear. Just as the male paramedic exits, I see Sidney come into frame.

 

“Sidney,” I say as he climbs up and gives me the biggest hug. He releases us as he gives Autumn a kiss on her head and plants his lips upon mine. He deepens the kiss as he releases me.

“I Love you Aaylah, I’m so happy you both are okay,” Sidney says as he helps us up.

“I’m so sorry Sidney,” I say as he hops down and looks at me.

“For what?,”

I take his other hand as he helps us down.

“For wrecking your car,”

“That car is replaceable. You aren’t and neither is Autumn. If something would have happened, I would have never forgave myself,”

“I love you Sidney,”

“I love you too Aaylah,”

“Did you come alone?,”

“Yes, when I heard you both screaming I took off in one of Mario’s cars,”

“Does anyone know?,”

“No, I rushed out of there like lightning,”

“How are we going to get Autumn home?,”

“I’ll run into the Target across the street and get her a car seat,”

“Thank you. We will be in Krogers,”

He leans down and gives me a kiss.

“I love you,”

“I love you too,”

I watch as he walks over to Mario’s house as I head back up the Krogers and walk in. I didn’t want to be out in the cold. Autumn starts to cry, so I walk back into Krogers and back to the baby section. I grab the instant formula as I got to self checkout to pay. Once paid for, I walk back into the entrence as I take a sit down on one of the chairs on display.

I open the box, shake the bottle and place the nipple ring over top.

 

“Here baby,” I say as I place the bottle in her mouth. She goes to town. I watch her drink it as I change it out for another one.

“Your sure are hungry,” I say.

“She is,”

I look up and see Sidney standing there with a car seat in his hand.

“That was fast,” I say as Autumn finishes her second bottle.

“It’s the same one that Kim and Ryan bought her,”

It was the same design and color.

“Your the greatest,”

I place Autumn on my shoulder as she lets out a large burp and a few small burps.

 

“Dang baby girl,” I say as I take her from off my shoulder. I then place her into the car seat as I make the nesscary adjustments before clipping her in. Just as I clip her in, I hear Sidney’s phone ring.

“Hello, yes I’m on my way back to the house. I’ll tell you when I get back,”

He hangs up the phone as he picks up the car seat.

“It was my dad, he was worried I took off like I did,”

“Ahh, well I would be the same way,”

We make our way out as I follow Sidney to the car. He opens the door, placing Autumn in the base as he looks at me.

 

“Sitting in the back?,” he asks.

“Yes,”

I slip in as he closes the door as he gets in front of me. I place the formula down as I look at Autumn. She is starting to get tired so her eyes are shutting as Sidney starts up the car.

 

“She is asleep,” I say as he backs up and heads out of the lot. A different way since the wreck is the other way.

“Good, she’s been up for awhile,” Sidney says.

“True,”

“We will figure out the situation with the Range Rover, okay?,”

“Okay, if you want to drive my car we can go get it,”

“I’ll go with LC later to get your car. Don’t think it’s a good idea for you to get behind the wheel right now,”

I have to agree with him on this.

 

“Okay, my car is your car,”

“Deal, oh I bought something else for Autumn,”

“What’s that?,”

“A bassinet like you have,”

I smile and shake my head. Sidney wants a safe place for her to sleep at.

 

A few minutes later, he pulls into the driveway as he parks the car in his normal spot. I unbuckle as I open the door. Unhooking the car seat, I pick it up and got out of the car.

 

“I was going to get her,” Sidney says as he places his hand on top of mine.

“I know,”

I release my grip as he was holding as I close the door. We walk up the sidewalk and up the stairs to the front door. Sidney opens it as we all walk in. We head back to the TV room as everyone is there including LC, Kris and Mason.

 

“What happened Sidney?” Troy asks as he gently places the car seat down.

“I was in a car accident,” I say.

“Are you okay? Did they exam you? What about Autumn?,” LC asks.

“We both are okay, physically but I’m shook up,” I say.

“So glad you both are okay cause Sidney took out of here like a bullet,” Troy says.

“I was on the phone with him. I had right a way so I turned left and this car didn’t stop at the right light. He lucky hit the right side of the car. Someone got us out before it blew up a few second after we escaped,”

“Oh my God. Someone was watching out for you,” Nat says.

“My parents and Autumn’s parents were,” I say as I look down and she is passed out.

 

After talking to everyone, me and Autumn make our way into Sidney’s wing as we head back to his room. He went out to the car to grab the bassinet. I walk in and set down the car seat before taking her out and placing her on the far side of the bed, against the wall. I didn’t want her to fall.

I turn around as I get off the bed. Sidney walks in as he closes his door.

 

“She’s out,” I say as he walks over to me. He grabs my hands as we walk backwards into the wall. He pins me against it as his hands go beside me. Mine move so they were touching his waist. Just as I am about to speak again, he crashes his lips upon mine. His hands move over to my face as mine go up his shirt. His tongue enters my mouth as our tongues dance together. I like the way that it feels like we fit together, belong together. His hands move down and goes under my shirt. His touch sends electricity throughout my body. He leans back to gain air as I’m doing the same as his head touches mine. I look at him and he looks at me, smiling. He moves one of his hands to touch my face before kissing me once more.

 

“One of these days I’ll show you how much I love you,” Sidney says.

“You show me every day,” I say as he smiles.

“That’s not even half of it,”

“Can’t to see what else you have,”

He smiles as he gives me a peck on my lips.

“I’m gonna go set up the bassinet so she can sleep in there tonight,”

“Okay, I think I’m going to stay in here with her,”

“Ok babe, I love you,”

“I love you too,”

He exits the room as I strip out of everything but my shirt, well Sidney’s shirt. I need some shorts, so I walk over and quietly opens the drawer I seen him pull them from. Yes, I place them on before getting into bed. It’s been on hell of a day. Practice, a game, house looking, then the car accident. It’s been rough and tomorrow I have practice which I’m unable too since mine and Sidney’s gear was in the accident.

 

Shaking my head, I lay down and get comfortable. My eyes get heavy before I close them.

 

“Aaylah,”

I open my eyes as I’m on the other side of the bed. Wait where is Autumn. I turn to come face to face with Sidney. Then I see the bassinet next to the bed.

 

“Relax, she’s right there,” Sidney says as I lay back down onto the bed. He wraps his arms around me as we are facing face to face.

“Don’t do that again,” I say.

“I promise. I want to let you know, my heart was beating out of my chest earlier when I heard you scream. When I pulled up and saw my car on fire I thought you both were in there until I seen the amblunce. I walked over and saw you both inside of it. That was the happiest moment, seeing you both alive. Hugging you and kissing you felt amazing,”

“Aww Sidney, I thought I was gonna die in that crash but we were lucky to come out of it clean. When I saw you, my heart started beating faster cause the man I love and who I wanted was right there,”

He pulls my body closer as his lips meet with mine. My hand goes over his side as we release the kiss.

“I love you Aaylah,”

“I love you too Sidney. By the way what time is it?,”

“9:30, probably 9:40 by now,

“And your in bed?,”

“I want to be in bed with you over watching TV. I chatted with my dad and Mario while putting the bassinet together. Told me I looked like a newbie,”

I giggle a little bit.

“I can hear them saying that,”

“Thanks, but my dad told me that he likes you. He genuinely likes you. He says you are a good fit for me and I couldn’t agree more,”

He leans over and gives me a kiss.

“That was sweet of him to say,”

“It was, so now all my family who has met you likes you,”

“That’s a good thing if one day I become your family,”

“You will become my family and so will that sweet pea over there,”

“So if we ever got married, would you adopted Autumn,”

It came out from no where and so did the marriage.

“Absoutely I would,”

We just lay there in each others arms for a few minutes before Sidney says, “Don’t worry about Autumn, I’ll take care of her tonight,”

“Are you sure?,”

“Yes babe,”

“Thank you,”

“No need to say thank you. We are in this together,”

“Absoutely,”

“I think it’s time to get some zzz’s in while we can,”

“Agreed,”

I didn’t want to let him go but he doesn’t let me go. My eyes slowly close as I fall back into the slumber.
