Chapter 28

“You cheated on me!!” I exclaim.

“No I didn’t, would you listen to me,” he says.

“No!!! You did the one thing I though you would never do,”

“I’m sorry but I didn’t cheat on you,”

“Get out of my house,”

“This is our house,”

“I don’t give a rats, Sidney. Get out,”

“No I am not getting out,”

“Mommy,” Cara says as she walks into the room with her teddy bear.

“What is it sweetie?” I ask as I kneel beside her and pick her up.

“What are you and daddy doing?” she asks.

“Nothing, we are ok sweetie,”
I look at Sidney.

“Well I gotta go,” Sidney says.
Immediately Cara reaches put Sidney as he grabs her.

“Where going?”

“To a friend’s house. You be good ok?”

“Ok,”
Sidney sets her down and walks out of the house.


“NO!!” I yell as I sit up fast in the bed.
I look around to find myself in my bed.
It was only a dream.
I see that it’s 7 in the morning.

“You ok?” LC asks as she opens my door.

“Yeah I’m alright, just a bad dream,” I say.

“Ok, there is coffee out here if you want it,” LC says.

“Thanks, I’ll be out there in a minute,” I say.

“Ok,” LC says.

I remove the covers and I get out of the bed and head up front as LC is sitting on the couch watching TV.

“What are you watching?” I ask as I walk into the kitchen where donuts were by the coffee maker.

“The news, there is nothing on this morning,” LC says.

“I know the feeling,” I say as I open the cover pulling out a cup.

Placing the cup onto the countier, I put 3 sugar packets into the cup.
I grab the coffee pot and pour some coffee into my cup.

“So what are your dream about?” LC asks as I grab spoon out of the drawer.

“I know its stupid but Sid was cheating on me and our little girl was crying,” I say as I grab the cup in right hand and a donut in my left hand.

“He would never do that and expectally if you both had a kid. He wouldn’t do that,” LC says as I walk into the living room as I sit beside her.

“I know he wouldn’t do that but I don’t know what my mind was thinking,” I say.

“Neither do I,” LC says as I sip some of my coffee.

“So what do you want to do today? I know I have pratice at 2 this afternoon. So before then,” I say.

“Let’s go shopping at the mall and we can eat lunch there,” LC says.

“Alright, that’s sounds good. Atleast we’ll get out of the house,” I say.

“Yeah I know, so when do you wanna go?” LC asks as I sip my coffee.

“How about 8 since many stores don’t open up until then?” I ask.

“Sounds good to me. So are all the preschoolers on your shirt?” LC asks.

“Yeah that’s all of them,” I say, looking down at my shirt.

“They are so cute,” LC says.

“Thanks,” I say.

“How many children do you want of your own?” LC asks.

“Maybe 2 or 3. I don’t want a whole lot,” I say.

“I want one,” LC says.

“Why one?” I ask.

“Cause I don’t think that I’ll have anymore kids then that,” LC says.

“Oh ok,” I say.

After finishing my coffee and donut, I get up from off the couch.

“I’m going to get changed,” I say as I head down the hall to my room.

“Alright,” LC says.
Walking into my room, I close my door.

I walk over to my dresser as I open up the second drawer to pull out my favorite purple shirt.
Closing it, I walk over to my closet and pull out a pair of jeans off the hanger.

I walk back over to the bed and begin to change from my preschoolers shirt and pj bottoms to the purple shirt and long blue jeans.

After I change, I place the clothes onto my bed as I walk over to the dresser.
Picking up my brush, I put it into an ponytail.
Setting the brush down, I walk over to my nightstand and pick up my phone.
I place it into my pocket as I walk out of my room.

“You ready LC?” I ask as I pass her room.

“Almost,” LC says as I walk up front.

I walk over to the table and I grab my purse from off the back of the table as LC emgres from her room.
She was dressed in a Sweden sweater, jeans, and tennis shoes.

“I’m ready,” LC says.

“Alright, let me grab my keys and get my shoes on,” I say as I walk over near the closet door and I slip on my clog shoes,

“Here are your keys,” LC says as I turn around.
She hands then to me as I make my way over to the door.

“Thanks and now lets get outta here,” I say as I open up the front door.

“Alright,” LC says as I let her walk out of the door first.
As I follow her, I lock and shut the door behind me.

“So what mall are we going to?” LC asks as we head down the stairs.

“To NorthShore mall since I don’t know of any other mall,” I say.

“Alright, so are you driving?” LC asks as we walk down the sidewalk to my car.

“Yep, I’m driving,” I say as I walk toe driver side of my car.
I place my keys into the lock and unlock the car.

“Doors are unlocked,” I say as I open the door and get into the car.
I then place the keys in the ignition and began the car up.

“So are we going looking or buying?” LC asks as I place my seatbelt on.

“Both, I have some money if I need it,” I say as I place the car in reverse as I pull out from the parking place. I then put it in drive as I drive to the exit of the apartment complex.

“Alright, I have some money of my own to buy things,” LC says.

“Ok that’s fine,” I say as I turn right and head down the road.

“So are we going down the turns?” LC asks.

“Nah, well go the semi longer way cause I’m not in the mood for the twist,” I say as I smile.

“Ah ok, so you think your practice will be longer or shorter this time?” LC asks.

“Probably shorter since we got a game tomorrow,” I say.

“Yeah true. What do you think the boys are-“
Before she could finish her sentence my cell phone begins to ring.

I stop at a stop sign as I lift up to grab my phone from out of my pocket.
I open it.

“Hello,” I say.

“Good morning,” Sidney says.

“Good morning,” I say.

“How are you this morning?” Sidney asks.

“I’m doing alright. I had a bad dream last night,” I say.

“Aww I’m sorry babe. Care to tell me about it?” Sidney asks.

“I know its stupid but you cheated on me like Ryan did,” I say as I drive on.

“I’m not that stupid like Ryan is. I’m not going to do that to a person that I love,” Sidney says.
He makes me feel special.

“Thanks Sidney,” I say.

“That’s the truth. Anyways we should be flying out from here around 9:30 this morning and we should land arounf 10:30ish,”Sidney says.

“Ok,” I say.

“So anyways what are your plans for today?” Sidney asks.

“Well me and LC are going to the mall and stay there until around 1ish cause I have practice at 2,” I say.

“What mall are you going too?” Sidney asks.

“North Shore,” I say as I turn onto the freeway to Pittsburgh.

“Yeah that’s a good time to leave there. We’ll I’ll ler you and my cousin go and shop. See you this afternoon,” Sidney says.

“Ok, I’ll see you then,” I say.

“Bye,” I say.

“Bye,” I say as I hang up my phone.

“That was Sidney wasn’t it?” LC asks.

“Yeah it was him,” I say.

“I figured since I heard you telling him the dream,” LC says.

“Yeah, as Army called this morning?” I ask.

“Yep, he called me around 6:30 this morning,” LC says.

“So he woke you up?” I ask.

“Yeah he did,” I say.

“Army,” I say as I make a fist as LC and myself begin to laugh.

Around 20 minutes later, I turn right and cross the other side of the freeway to end the North Shore mall.

“We’re here,” I say as I park into a front parking place.

“Yay,” LC says as I turn the car off and take my keys out.
I open my door, grabbing my purse, and getting out of the car.

“So where do you wanna go first?” I ask LC as she get out of the car and walks over to me.

“It doesn’t matter to me,” LC says as we begin walking into the building.

“Alright, let’s just look until we see something that we want,” I say as I open the door up.

“Thank you,” LC says as she walks in.
I follow her in as we start at the clothing department.
This mall is divided in to sections, not like a regular mall.

We just walk around for like an hour as LC says” I’ll be right back,”

“Where are you going?” I ask.

“I’ll be back,” She says as she going running in one direction.

“Ok,” I say as I wonder around as I reach an penguin store.
I walk in.

“Hello, how are you today?” A lady asks me.

“I’m doing alright, “I say as I walk around.
I see lots of things that belonged to Sidney.

“May I help you with anything? Looking for something special?” she asks.

“No, but thank you,” I say as I pick up an hockey puck that was autographed by Mario Lemieux.

“Alright just let me know if you do need anything,” she says.

I place the puck down as I walk more around the store as I see a cute little bear.
I pick it up and walk over to the countier.

“Sidney fan huh?” she asks as she rings up the bell.

“Yep,” I say as I pull out my wallet from my purse.

“5.99,” she says.
I pull out 6 dollars and hand it to her.

“Keep the change,” I say.
She hands me the bag.

“Thank you and please visit again,” she says.

“Thank you,” I say as I walk out of the store and still see no sign of LC.
So I walk back over to the spot where she left me and she is standing there.

“Hey,” I say as I walk over to her.

“Hey, you bought something?” LC asks.

“yeah, it’s a bear for Sidney,” I say.

“Aww I’m sure he will love it,” LC says.

“So where did you go?” I ask.

“To buy you something and I’m having them delvery it tomorrow,” LC says.

“We might not be home a lot tomorrow,” I say.

“Then I’ll have them do it Sunday. I can call and tell then that,” LC says.

“Alright, so you wanna go downstairs now?” I ask.

“Sure,” LC says as we walk over to an exlulator.

We ride it down the the lower level of the mall.

“So the food is down here for whenever we get hungry?” LC asks.

“Yep,” I say.

We walk around for another hour as we see different stores.
As we passed an store, my cell begins to ring as so did LC’s.

“Ugh,” I say as I open my purse up and retreve my cell phone.
I flip it open

“Hello,” I say.

“Hey, it’s me. Our plane just landed,” Sidney says as I look at the big clock tower, which read 11.

“Is isn’t kinda late?” I ask.

“We didn’t take off until 10 because Army forgot his bag in the hotel room,” Sidney says.
I smile a bit.

“I can’t believe he did that,” I say.

“He does it all the time though, so anyways how has your day been?” Sidney asks.

“It’s been alright. I got you something though,” I say.

“I can’t wait to see what you got me. Your not going to tell me what it is are you?” Sidney says.

“Nope,” I say , laughing.

“Well I’m am on my way back to the Lemieux’s, so I’ll see you at practice, is that ok?” Sidney asks.

“Yeah that’s fine, see you then,” I say as I hang up the phone and place it into my pocket.

“I love you too bye baby,” LC says as she hangs up her phone.

“You ready for some lunch?: I ask.

“Yeah I’m hungry,” LC says.

“Let’s go get some food,” I say as we turn around and head the other way.

“So what do you want?” I ask.

“Let’s see what they have first,” LC says.

“Alright,” I say as we walk into the open-spaced café.
I see all kinds of restaurants and everything.

“How about we eat some chick-fa-lay?” LC asks.

“That sounds yummy,” I say.

“Are we going to pay as individuals or seprate?” LC asks.

“Doesn’t matter to me,” I say.

“I will pay them since you paid for dinner last night,” LC says.

“That’s fair,” I say as me and he walk up to the countier.

“May I help you two today?” A lady asks.

“Yes, may I have a chicken wrap and a salad with a lemonade,” I say.

“And I will get a chicken and strip basket with a Dr. Pepper,” LC says.

“And this is all together right?” she asks.

“Yes it is,” LC says.

“Your total will come to 10 dollars and 78 cents,” she says.
I watch as LC gets out her wallet and hands the cashier 11 dollars.

“Keep the change,” LC says.

“Thank you. Have a great day,” she says as me and LC move over to the side and wait for our food.

A few minutes later out tray is filled up.

“I’ll grab it,” LC says as she grabs it as we turn around.

“So where do we want to sit at?” I ask.

“How about that table with the two chair,” LC says as she points to it.

“Alright, just enough room for us,” I say as we head over to the table.

As we get to the table, LC places the tray down.

“Which side do you want?” I ask.

“Doesn’t matter,” LC says.
So I pull out a chair and sit down on it.

I grab my wrap, salad, and lemonade from off the tray.

“I haven’t had this is a long time,” I say as I open my wrap up.

“I have never had this,” LC says as I watch her grab a chicken tender.

“It’s good,” I say as I take a bit out of my wrap.
I then watch as LC chewed her chicken.

“Umm this is good,” LC says.

“Told you it was good,” I say as I begin to eat.

Around 10 minutes later, me and LC place our trash on the tray.

“So now what are we going to do?” LC asks.

“I don’t know, let me go and take the tray up and we’ll talk when we get back,” I say.
I get up off the chair and grab the tray as I walk over to the trash can.

Pushing the door open, I dump the tray as all the trash falls off and into the ban.
As I put it back up and place it on the top, I feel my eyes being covered.

“Get off of me,” I say as I take the persons hands off my eyes as I turn around I find Sidney behind me.

“What are you doing here? And how did you get here?” I ask.

“Nat gave me and Colby a ride up here,” Sidney says.

“Aww, thats nice of her,” I say.

“We actully planned it,” Sidney says.

"So thats why you asked me where I was going today?" I ask.

"Nah, I really wanted to know your plans, ok you caught me," Sidney says
As he ends his sentence, I hear LC begin to yell.

Looking to where LC is ,Colby was holder her in his arms.

“She’s happy,” I say.

“Yeah, she she is,” Sidney says.

We walk over to where LC was with Colby.

“You a little excited there LC?” Sidney asks.

“Yes,” LC says.
LC then holds onto Colby like for dear life.

“So where is my present?” Sidney asks.

“You'll get is later," I say.

"Ok but you promise to give it to me?" Sidney asks.

“Yes i promise. What time is it?” I ask as I had my cell phone in my purse.

“It’s 12:30,” Colby says.

“Wow, time was flown today,” I say.

"It has since you are back," LC says as she kisses Army.

"Well let's head outta here and get to my practice," I say as I go over to the chair to put up the bag and purse.

"alright," LC says as me and Sid lead the way with colby and LC behind us.

"Do you have a disgust?" I ask.

"No but I dont need one," Sid says.

We walk away from the food court as we head to the esculator.
As we walk, some people were staring at me with Sidney.

"Dont let them bother you," Sid whispers into my ear.
I was a little scared to be in the public eye.

We get on the esualtior and ride it up.
Then we walk and head out of the mall.

"So you two want to be in the back?" Sid asks as we turn and head for my car.

"Yes," LC says as we reach my car.

Sid lets go of hand as I walk over to my side of the car.
Unzipping my purse, I pull out my keys.
I place my keys into the hole and turn to unlock the door.

"Doors are open," I say as I take the keys out and open my door.
Getting into the car, I close the door and place the keys into the engine.

"Sid can you put my purse and bag over there?" I ask.

"Sure babe," Sidney says as I pass him the two items as he places them on the floorboard.
Taking the seatbelt in my hand, I move it over my chest to clip it in.

"Everyone buckled?" I ask.

"Yes," Sidney says
I look behind me as I shift the car into reverse.
I back out of my parking place as Ishift the car into drive to the exit and contuine to go straight to head for Connonsburg.

"So how was your flight?" I ask.

"It was alright, like anyother flight. Colby was talking all the way home about LC," Sidney says.

"Really? He must have missed her as much as she missed him," I say.

"Yeah did you miss me?" Sidney asks.

"Sorta," I say.

"Sorta?" sid asks.

"Of course I missed you," I say.
Sidney just smiles.

"So are you going to watch practice or are you going to drive my car to the apartment, then go get your car?" I ask.

"Why would I go to your apartment? I'm not going to miss your practice cause i maybe able to help you and I know colby wants to stay cause LC is," sidney says.

"Yeah that's true," I say.
I put my right arm on the middle as I felt Sidney grab my hand.

"Is it ok for me to do this?" Sid asks.

"Not while I'm driving Sid," I say as he lefts go of my hand.

"Alright thats ok," Sid says.
I really want to take my relationship slow with sidney because I'm still afried that he will either cheat on me or leave me if we go too fast.

35 minutes later, I turn into the parking lot of Southpointe. It only had a few cars in it as I park my car near the front of the building.

"Do you have your bag cause I didnt see you bring it?" Lc asks as I turn the car off.

"Yeah, i left it in the back after my last practice," I say as I take my keys out of my engine.

"Sid can you places theses in my purse for me?" I ask.

"Sure babe, do you want me to take it in with me so you dont have to worry about locking it up?" Sid asks.

"Yeah good idea sid," I say as I open my door and pull a lefver to open my trunk up.
I get out of my car as I walk to the back of the car.
Opening it, I can hear the rest of them getting out of the car.

I grab and pull my bag placing it onto my shoulder
Then I grab two of my sticks, as I close the door.
Sid,LC, and Colby were all on the sidewalk as I walk inbetween the cars and get up to them.


"We'll let you walk in first unless you want us to follow," LC says.

"You guys can follow me," I say as I lead the way inside of the building.

"Good afternoon Aaylah. How are ya today?" Mark asks.

"I'm doing well, so were is the ladies team practicing at today?" I ask.

"The Penguins rink," Mark says.

"Thank you, see you later," I say as I walk to the back rink.

I walk to the back as I see Amy standing there.

'Hey Aaylah," Amy says as she walks over to me.

"Hey Amy," I say.

"You brought some friends today?" amy asks.

"Yeah, we were all together and instead of taking a 20 minute detor, they just came with me," I say.

"Alright, well you go get changed and I'll see you on the ice," Amy says.
I turn around as I see Sid, Colby and LC standing there.

"We are going to be in the stands. Have a good practice babe," sid says as he kisses my cheek.

"Alright," I say as they walk away.

I then walk across the hall into the changing room.
When I walk in, i choose a stall and walk in.
Locking the door, I unzip my bag and pull out all my hockey belongings.
I take off my shirt, jeans, and clog shoes and put on my stretch undersuit, pads, shoulder pads, bottoms, and my jersey.
Sitting on the bench, I put on hockey socks and place on my skates.
Before taking off the blade protecter, I lace them up.
Taking the protecters off, I place everything back into my bag and exit out of the room with my sticks in my hand

I walk back across as I seen Sidney standing there.

"Want me to hold it for you?" sidney asks as he already had my purse in his hand.

"Please," I say as I hand him my bag and one of my sticks.

"Go kick some pratice butt," Sid says as I hop onto the ice.

"Is that sidney crosby with you?" Amy asks.
I didnt know what so say.

"Nah, thats my boyfriend," I say.

"Well he looks like Crosby," amy says as we practice passing the puck before Coach Ginger got onto the ice.

"Let's go girls, same lines as last time," Coach Ginger yells.
I got to center ice as Amy and Ally got beside me for my wingers.
Watching as the puck drops, I get it and pass it to Amy.
I race up to the net as I yell"Pass it!!!"
As the pass came to me I shot it in.

"Yay," I say.

I skate and play my hardest for like an hour in a half as a whisle blows.

"Girls bring it in," Coach Ginger says.
I skate in as I see Sidney standing with my purse in his hands.
I smile.

"Ok so we got a game tomorrow afternoon against the Wheeling Vikings at Mellon Arena. We need to win the first game of the season so we can get a good lead. Tomorrow I will be handing out schedules for the rest of the season. So get some rest and meet you at Mellon Arena at noon tomorrow. Go ahead and go," Coach Ginger says.

I let the rest of the girls get off the rink as Amy comes over to me.


"So do you want to go and grab some dinner?" amy asks.

"Nah not today but thanks though. I am just going to hang out with a few friends," I say as I skate off the ice.

"Alright, see you tomorrow then," Amy says as she heads for the dressing room.
I turn and walk over to the blechers as Sid had a smile on his face.

"You did well in practice today," Sid says as he hands me my bag.
I then hand him my stick

"Thanks, let me go change and I'll be right back," I say as I head back over to the dressing room.

Walking into another stall, I change from all my hockey stuff back into my purple shirt, long jeans, and clog shoes.
Placing all my hockey gear back into my bag, I zip it up and placing it on my shoulder.
I open the door and walk back outside.

"See you tomorrow Aaylah," Haley says as she is leaving.

"See ya," I say as I walk back over to the rink where Sid was.

"where did they go?" I ask.

"Back to the car," Sid says.

"Alright, lets to meet up with them," I say as I begin to walk as Sidney follows behind me.

"See you later," mark says as i head for the doors.

"Bye Mark," I say as I open the door and walk out.
As I walk out, I hold the door open for Sid,

"Thank you," Sidney says as he walks out and I follow behind him as we make our way to the car.

"what are you doing?"Sid asks as I see LC and Colby jumping up.
I laugh.

"Sidney," LC says as she walks over to him and lightly slaps him.
Colby smile as I do too.

"Ok guys, lets get in the car and head for the apartment," I say.

"Ok,can we stop by the Lemieux's house first to get our bags, since we know we will be staying over there tonight?" Colby asks.

"Sure I can stop by there," I say as i walk over to my side of the car, so I could pop open the trunk.
Opening the door, and pull up the lever.

I close the door as i walk to the back as colby passes me to get into the car.
Opening the trunk, I place my sticks into the backseat before I set my bag in there.
Closing the trunk, I hear the car being started up.
Walking back, I get into the driver's seat as I close the door.
I smile as I seen Sid already to go with LC and Colby cozy in the backseat.

"Ready to go?" I ask.

"Yep," Colby says first.
I turn around and grab my seatbelt to clip it into place.
Then I put the car into reverse as I back out of my parking place.
Turning my wheel, I place it into drive as I head out of the parking lot.
