Chapter 29

"Can we listen to some music?" Colby asks

"Sure but I'm picking the station," I say.

"Fine," Colby says.

"Sid you can pick the station," I say as I wanted to keep my hands on the wheel.

"You sure?" Sid asks.

"Yeah I dont care what you pick," I say.
I watch as Sid reaches down and turns on the radio and switches it to Top 20 countdown.

Listening the the music, I look out onto the road as I kinda connect it.

"Now since our top 20 is over with, we got a request for an old fashion song. So here is Sammy Hagar's "I can't drive 55"," the radio host says as a rock beat came on.

It is a good song so far to drive in.

About 20 minutes later, I drive down the the Lemieux's road as i pull up to the gate, which was closed.

"What is the code?" I ask Sid.

"LSAA," Sidney says as I type it in and the gate opens up.
I drive in as I just drive up and park on the driveway.

“Girls would you like to come in with us instead of sitting out here in the car?” Sidney asks as he opens his door.

“Sure we’ll go in,” LC says for both of us.
I take my keys out and open my door.

“You can leave your keys in the car. No one can steal it,” Sidney says.

“Ok but I want to take them anyways,” I say as I place them into my pocket.
I open my door and get out of the car.

Closing the car door, I walk over to Sid as LC and Colby follows behind.
We walk up onto the porch as he knocks on the door.

“When we get to the apartment, I’ll give you yours keys,” I say.

“Alright, why did you keep them?” Sidney asks.

“I don’t know,” I say.

“It’s alright you have them. I trust you,” Sidney says as the door opens up.

“Sid, Aaylah, LC, and Colby what are you doing here?” Nathalie asks.

“We came to get our bags, well me and Army,” Sid says.

“Come on in, they are in your wing,” Nat says.

“We’ll be back,” Sid says as he and Army go into the house.

“Come on in girls,” Nat says as me and LC walk into the house and follow Nat down the hallway to the living room.
Alexa is sitting, and playing a video game.

“We can talk in here, have a seat,” Nat says as LC sat in a seat oppenset to Sidney’s wing as I just stand up.

“How has school been for you both?” Nat asks as he sits on the edge of the couch that Alexa is on.

“It’s going alright, I got tons of homework to still do,” I say.

“It’s going for me pretty well. I love it. Hey Aaylah can you go help Sid or something? I need to ask Nat a personal question,” LC asks.

“Sure,” I say.

“Alexa can you go with her?” Nat asks.

“Mommy,” Alexa says.

“Come on Alexa. It will be a few minutes,” I say.
Alexa pauses her game as she walks over to me as me and her walk to Sidney’s wing.

“So how is school going?” I ask.

“Good. I love it,” Alexa says.

“That’s good. Whats your favorite subject?” I ask as I let her walk into Sidney’s wing first.

“Math, mom says I’m like daddy,” Alexa says.

“That’s good. What do you do? Like your brother and sister play hockey. What does Alexa do?” I ask.

“I am in girl scouts and participate in soccer,” Alexa says as Colby gets up.

“See you in a few minutes Colby,” I say as he walks out.

“Let me go get Sidney, Alexa,” I say.

“Ok,” Alexa says as I walk back to his room.
I could see him packing as I come up to his room.

“Why are you packing?” I ask.

“I need to re pack some new clothes,” Sidney says as he zips up his bag.

“Oh ok, that makes since,” I say as he lifts the bag and places it on top of his shoulder.

“You ready?” Sid asks as I lead the way out of his room.

“Hi Sidney,” Alexa says.

“Hey Alexa, how did you get in here?” Sid asks.

“From me, Nat wanted me to take her cause LC had to ask a personal question,” I say.

“Oh ok, do you think she is done?” Sid asks.

“Probably,” I say.

“Let’s go on out there,” Sidney says.

“Alexa lead the way out,” I say.

Alexa walks out before me and Sid as we follow her out.
As we come back out, LC and Colby looks like they are ready.

“You two ready?” Sidney asks.

“Yep,” Army says.

“Well you guys have fun and be safe ok?” Nat says.

“We will,” Sidney says.
I look at Army and LC as they move their heads for me and Sid to move out.
So I lead everyone down the hallway to the door

“Bye Sidney,” Alexa says from behind us.
I turn around as I see Sidney hugging Alexa in his arms.

“Bye Alexa. See you later,” Sidney says as he stands back up.

As I open the door, I see Mario in his car, but behind my car.

“You guys leaving or no?” Mario asks.

“We are fixing to leave,” Sidney says as we walk off the porch.

“I’ll back out the gate until you back out,” Mario says as he beings to reverse out of his driveway.

I walk on the sidewalk that lead to my car.
When I get on the blacktop, I walk over to my car.

“Sid, Army let me pop the trunk so you can place your bags in there,” I say.

“Alright,” Sid says.
I lean over and pull it as I grab my keys out of my pocket.
Placing the keys back, I began the car up as the boys close the trunk.
I close my door as I buckle up.
Sidney then got into the passenger side of my car.

“Buckle up,” I say, like a mother.
I will never leave somewhere were no one is buckled up.

“We are mom,” Army says as I smile.

“Buckled?” I ask.

“Yes we both are babe,” Sidney says as I put the car into the reverse.
I then look as I back out of the Lemieux’s driveway.
Fully out of the driveway, I was beside Marios car.

“See you kids later,” Mario says as he pulls into his driveway.
I then place my car into drive as I head to Sewickley Heights.

“So what are we going to do when we get to the apartment?” Army asks.

“We are going to cook dinner and invited Geno and Yvette over,” LC says.

“What are you cooking?” Sid asks.

“You’ll see,” LC says.
I didn’t even know what we were cooking.

I then turn as I head into the turns.

“I’m driving back to the Lemieux’s,” Sidney says.

“Your not a better driver then me, Crosby,” I say as I take a sharp turn on prepess.

“It’s the turns, not me,” I say as I stop at a stop sign.
I flip my blinker on as I turn right.
After turning right, I turn on my blinker again as I turn right into my complex then to the left.

“There are too many turns to get here,” Colby says.

“We know,” LC says as I drive down to my apartment building.
Whenever I get to my building, I pull in besides LC’s car as I turn the car off.

“We are here,” I say.

“Cozy little place,” Colby says.

“You haven’t seen the inside yet,” LC says.
I pull the keys out and open my door.
Then I pull to open the trunk up.

“Sidney before you get out, can you hand me my bag and purse?” I ask.
Sid grins a little as he grabs both.

“Here babe,” Sidney says.

“Thanks,” I say as he gets out of the car.
I unhook my seatbelt as I get out of the car.
Closing the door, I see the guys closing the trunk.
LC walks over to Colby as they head for the sidewalk.
I walk onto the sidewalk as I wait on Sidney.

“Lead the way,” Army says.
I smile.

I head up the sidewalk, then up the stairs with I know Sidney was behide me.
Having the keys in my hand, I use them to unlock my door.
Opening it, I remove the keys as I walk in first.

“You can put your bags right here,” I say as I point to the space in between the kitchen table and landuray room.

“Alright,” Sidney says as he places his down.

“Just relax,” LC says as she closes the door.
I watch as Colby places his suitcase besides Sid’s bag.
Then he and Sid walk into my living room.

“Nice little pad you got here Aaylah,” Colby says.

“Thanks, Army,” I say as I walk into my small kitchen.
Turning around LC is right behind me.

“So what are we making?” I ask.

“Chicken Stir Fry, a salad, and frozen yogurt,” LC says.

“Umm that sounds yummy. Do we have everything?” I ask.

“I think so, cause I seen you had chicken, vegs, and the mix, so ya,” LC says.

“Ok, so who is going to do what?” I ask.

“We leave the salad and yogurt for last, so one of us could cut the meat and the other the veratables,” LC says.

“Ok I’ll do the cutting of the veggies,” I say.

“Alright, hey we can invite Geno and Yvette over for dinner,” LC says.

“I’ll go anc ask her,” I say as I walk out of the kitchen as I grab my wireless phone from by the computer.

“Wait I cant call her,” I thought as I place the phone down and get on the computer.
I log into AIM as I seen her screenname right there.

Pittsbabe88: Hey, I got a ? for ya
Genosgirl71: What?
PB88: Is Geno with you?
GG71: Yeah he is, why?
PB88: Well me and LC are cooking for the guys but we were wondering, do you and Geno want to come over?
GG71: You sure? I mean its your time with the guys
PB88: Get over here!
GG71: We are on our way
PB88: See you in a few. Bye

I log off and walk back into the kitchen.

“They are on their way,” I say as I walk over to the fridge.

“Ok,” LC says.
I pull out some of the veggies.

“Carrot, Celery, Cucumbers, Green peppers, and Mushrooms ok?” I ask as I turn around and place them onto the back countier, as I call it.

“Yeah that sounds good,” LC says.
It was her idea to cook dinner, not mine but it’s a good idea.

A few minutes later, as I am putting the veggies in an knock came at the door.

“Just a minute,” I say as I place my bowl and knife into the sink.
Walking from the kitchen I head to the door as I open it.

“Dinner ready?” Geno asks as I smile.

“Not yet Gen, come on in,” I say.
Geno and Yvette walk pass me as I close and lock the door.

“Geno you can chill with the boys as Vette comes with us,” I say.

“Ok,” Geno says as me and Vette head into the kitchen.

“So the stir fry is started, all we have to do it wait,” LC says as she covers the pot.

"Alright, what should we do now?” Vette asks.

“We can talk while the boys watch TV,” LC says as we all walk over to my kitchen table.
I sit down at the far end of the table, but I can see the whole living room.
The guys are watching a movie by the looks of it.

“So how has your day been today?” Vette asks.

“Me or her?” I ask, as Vette smiles.

“Both of you,” Vette says.

“Eh it was alright, until Colby came to surpise me. I was so glad to see him that we couldn’t take our hands off one another,” LC says as I smile.

“My day has been alright, Sidney surpised me earlier that he almost scared the crap out of me. He came from behind me and I thought he was a kidnapper. Then afterwards, we all went to my practice,” I say.

“How was it?” Vette asks.

“It was better then Wednesday’s,” I say.

“Good,” Vette says.

“So how has your day been going Vette?” I ask.

“Boring, I went out to shop earlier this morning and when I get back Geno was on my first step,” Vette says.

“Aww that’s cute,” LC says.

We talk for about 30 minutes before the buzzer on the stove goes off.

Lc gets up and walks over to the stove as I hear” Is it ready yet?”

“Almost,” LC says as she covers the pan.

“Let’s get the salad and yogurt ready,” LC says.

“I’ll help you,” Vette says.

“Ok,” LC says as I turn and watch them preparing plates.
I get up from the table and walk into the small kitchen.

“Let me take their plates to them,” I say.

“Alright, that’s a good idea Aaylah,” Vette says as I grab the first two.

“Geno and Sid’s,” Lauren says.
I nod as I walk into my living room.

“Geno here is your’s,” I say as he reaches up for it.

“Thank you,” Geno says.
I walk over to the loveseat and hand Sidney’s his.

“Thanks babe,” Sidney says.

“Your welcome,” I say as I walk back hearing Colby say, “Where is mine at?”

“It’s coming baby,” LC says as she hands me Colbys plate.
I turn andwalk back into the living room.
Walking to the other side of the couch, I hand Colby his plate.

“Thank you Aaylah,” Colby says.

“Your welcome,” I say as I walk back into the kitchen to find 3 plates with a smaller portion on them.

“Choose first Aaylah,” LC says.

“No you, you made it,” I say.
LC smiles as she chooses the middle one, me the left one and Vette has the right plate.

I walk out of the the kitchen and walk into the living room.
Walking in front of the TV, I make my way over to the loveseat.

I sit down besides Sidney.

“Is it good?” I ask.

“It’s actually pretty good,” Sidney says.
I take my fork and pick up some of the stir fry on it.
Then I place it into my mouth as the flavors melt off into my mouth.

“It is good, Good stir fry LC,” I say as I shallow.

“Thank you, great work with the veggies,” LC says.
I turn my head and look at the TV in which has some kind of movie on it.

“What are you guys watching?” I ask.

“Slapshot,” Colby says.
I remember seeing this movie when I was younger.

I finish eating my stir fry, then I move onto my salad then yogurt.

“What flavor is this?” I ask.

“Just strawberry. Is that ok” LC asks.

“It’s alright, I just couldn’t tell what it was,” I say as I contuine to eat it.

A few second later, I look down at my empty paper plate.

“Anyone else done?” I ask as I stand up.

“We can get it Aaylah,” LC says as her and Colbys plates are on the table.
I lean over and pick them up.

“Geno, Vette you done yet?” I ask as I walk in front of them.
Geno hands me his plate as Vette does too.

I then walk into the kitchen as I walk over to the door by the fridge.
Opening the door, I place the plates into the garbage can as I close the door.

“Your not cleaning are you?” LC asks from the living room.
I look around the kitchen.
The only thing that is dirty is my pan and I can get that tomorrow.
The girls cleaned up their mess from the salad and yogurt.

“No I’m not cleaning it, I need to soak this pan,” I say as I take the pan off the stove and place it into the sink.
I grab the dish soap and place some on it as I turn on the water, so it can fill up the pan.
As it reaches the top, I turn the water off as I see Sid walking this way.

“I got it,” I say as I see him holding this empty plate.

“I got it babe, I know were the trash can is,” Sidney says.
I nod as I walk back into the living room.

“Excuse me,” I say before I walk in front of the TV to get to the loveseat.
Sitting down, I place my legs onto the couch as I see Sidney walking over.

“Excuse me guys. I’m coming through,” Sidney says as he walks in front of the TV and sits beside me.

“Colby hand me my remote please,” I say, nicely since he was in reaching range.

“Uhh,” Colby says as he hands me the remote.

“Thank you,” I say as I press guide then to on-demand and click on a movie.

“Let’s watch this,” I say as I place the remote in between me and the couch, so no one can get it.
I knew that the boys might like this movie, it’s Spiderman 3.
There wasn’t many girly on in-demand, so I choice the movie I did.

As the movie goes on, I get more into it
Then all of a sudden, I hear thunder and the power goes out.

“Oh great,” I say as I get up from off the couch.

“Anyone have there cells on them?” I ask.

“I do babe,” Sidney says.
I move my hands around as I sit back down on the couch.
Sidney touched me as I feel his phone in my hands now.

“Thank you,” I say as I open it to relvie the light.

“Do you guys have your cells?” I ask as I point the cell phone over to them as I seen LC pull out her cell phone as well as Geno.

“LC, come and help my find my candles in my hall closet,” I say as I get up and point the phone to where I’m walking.

“What do we do?” Colby asks.

“Sit there for a minute,” I say as I walk into my hallway and to my closet.

“You can look here, I’ll go in my bathroom closet,” I say as I walk into my room, watching every move I make.

Walking into my bathroom, I walk over to my sink and grab my two candles that were on my counter.

“There are none in here,” LC says.

“Hold on,” I say.

“I’m going to get my lantern out of my room,” LC says.

“Alright,” I say.
Grabbing my lighter from off the counter as well, I walk out of the bathroom and head back up front.

“I found some,” I say as I walk back into the living room.
With Sid’s cell and the help of Geno’s I place one candle on one end of the table and the other on the other side of the table.
I light one, then the other one.

“Ok, that should be good,” I say as a bright light came out.

“Found it,” LC says as she comes out of her room.

“Set it on the countier behind you,” I say.
I watch as LC turns around, placing her lantern on the countier shief.

I walk a few steps and sit next to Sidney on the couch.

“Thanks for letting me use your cell phone,” I say as I fold it and hand it back to him.

“Your welcome,” Sidney says.

“So what can we do now?” Army says.

“I don’t know, I don’t have any board games,” I say.

“Dang, wish we got UNO,” Colby says.

“Oh no, we are not playing that again,” LC says.
Looking over at Vette, she is falling asleep on Geno.

“Geno, why don’t you take her to my sepate room,” I say.
He nods.

“Where is it at?” Geno asks.

“It is the second room on the right,” I say.

“Ok. Night everyone,” Geno says as he picks up Vette and head back to the room.

“Night Geno,” the rest of us say.
A few seconds later, the door closes.

“Well I think I’m going to go to bed too,” LC says as she gets up.

“Alright, night,” I say as I watch her pulling Army up.
Before she walks to the back, she grabs her lantern.

“Don’t do anything I wouldn’t do,” Sidney says.

“Whatever Sidney,” LC says as I hear her door shut and lock.

“Are you tired?” Sidney asks.

“No, its 8:45, its too early for me to go to bed. Are you tired?” I ask.

“A little bit, Army woke me up early this morning,” Sidney says.

“Aww, what time?” I ask.

“6:30,” Sidney says.

“That’s not so bad,” I say.

“Yeah,” Sidney says.

“Now what are we going to do?” I ask.

“We can play my PSP,” Sidney says as he gets up.

“Whats that?” I ask.
I really never heard of that before.

“I’ll show you,” Sidney says.

“Ok,” I say as he hear him zipping and unzipping his bag.
He walks back over to me as he shows me his PSP.

“Oh ok, what do you have in it?” I ask.

“Socom, it’s a shooting game I play with the team all the time. Do you want to try and play it or I can get you a new game,” Sidney says as he gets up.

“I’ll try it as long as you help me with it,” I say.

“I’ll help you with it,” Sidney says as he sits back down next to me.
He reaches for me and he turns on the power as the screen lights up.

“Is this hard?” I ask.

“not really babe,” Sidney says.

“Alright, do I hit the gun icon?” I ask.

“Yeah,” Sidney says as I look over at him.
He was looking at me then the screen.
I look down as the main menu is up.

“Ok, click on missions and level 1,” Sidney says.
I do that and it begins.

“Hit the guys with the black on,” Sidney says as I look at the screen.

“What to shoot?” I ask.

“X,” Sidney says.
I hit X, killing all the men.
This is like an game I played before but I haven’t played video games in awhile.

“Your doing good,” Sidney says.
I move on to a few levels as it became harder, and me getting more frustared.

“Go get your games. I’m tired of this one,” I say as I pause it.

“Let me help you ok?” Sidney asks as he places his hand on the mover.

“You shoot and I’ll walk around ok? I’ll tell you when to fire,” Sidney says.

“Alright,” I say as I watch him.

“shoot,” Sidney says as I being to hit X, multiple of times.
He moves around and I shoot.

We make a great team in this game, with him moving and me shooting.

An hour later, I hit pause on the game.

“I’m getting tired of playing video games. Can we shut it off?” I ask as I hear noises.

“Yeah we can,” Sidney says as he takes it from my hand and turns it off.
I then hear the noise again.

“What is that noise?” I ask.

“I don’t know,” Sidney says.

“I’m going to go and check on Vette,” I say as I get up and grab a candle.

“Check on LC too,” Sidney says.

“You know she wouldn’t do that,” I say as I walk into the hallway.
I can hear music on in LC’s room.
She must have batteries in her music player.
I walk more and stop at the door to my extra room.
I turn and nob and open the door up to see something I didn’t want to see at all.
Vette and Geno having sex.
I quickly close the door quietly and walk back up front.

“I cant believe what I saw,” I say as I place the candle back down onto the table.
I then walk back over and sit beside Sid, who is looking at me.

“What did you see?” Sid asks.

“Something bad,” I say.

“Lauren having sex?” Sidney asks.

“I didn’t walk into that room,” I say.

“Oh wow,” Sid says.

“Yep,” I say as I yawn.

“You tired?” Sid asks.

“Not really but I’m becoming tired,” I say.

“You want to go to bed? I’ll stay out here,” Sid says.

“I’m not going to me room, to listen to moaning,” I say.

“Come here,” Sidney says as I move closer to him.
He wraps his arm around me as my head is on his chest.

“I’m glad you’re here, if not I would be talking to myself,” I say.
Sidney then moves his legs onto the couch.

“Let’s move over to the other couch, we will be more comfortable over there,” I say as I move myself off of Sid and off the couch.

I walk over to the couch as I Sid walks behind me.

“Go ahead first,” Sidney says as I get up onto the couch and lay down facing him.

“Ready?” Sid asks.
I nod as he gets onto the couch, as he lays down flat.
He moves his arm over me as I lay my head on top of his chest.

“You ok?” Sidney asks.

“Yes, I’m alright,” I say as I look up at him as he does the same for me.

“You can go to sleep if you want to. It will be ok,” Sidney says.
I yawn again saying” Ok,”
I place my right hand on his stomach area as I feel Sid kiss my forehead.

“Night Aaylah,” Sidney says.

“Night Sid,” I say as I close my eyes.
I guess he knew I was going to sleep.
