Will it be you?- Chapter 13

Watching then pratice, I watch Sidney as he moves his stick back and does a slapshot right into the net.
I clap as he shakes around until his next turn.

Half of the players were on one side and the other half on the other side.
Sidney was on the half that I was sitting right in front of.

Then Colby misses the puck.

"Haha Colby," a player says.

"Shut up Whitney!"Cobly exclaims as I being to crack up.
This was funny.
I would love to join them like I was suppose to on Wednesday.

Then I watch Sidney go around the net with the puck as he slaps it in.

"Yeah,"I hear Sidney says.

"Show off!!!" Colby exclaims.
Sidney shakes his head as he gets back in line.

For the next hour I watch Sidney and the rest of them pratice.
It was fun to watch them play hockey.
maybe i could do that.

As I watch the coach call them over, my cell phone began to go off.
Getting it from my pocket, I open it.

"Hello,"I say, praying that it wasn't Kim.

"Hey, you ok?"Vette asks.

"Yeah I'm alright. How was class?"I ask.

"It was fun today, you should have been there,"

"Naw I'm not ready to go back yet,"

"I know and Mrs. Jackson told me to tell you hang in there and come back whenever you feel better,"

"Thanks Vette,"

"No problam, so you at home?"

"No, Kim is there. I'm not going to go home until she leaves. Im not dealing with her right now,"

"Ah ok, so where are you at?"

"Down at Mellon Arena watching Sidney and the rest of the team pratice,"

"Your lucky,"

"Vette I'm not lucky. Sidney invited me down here and I took it. I'm not going to waste my life away in bed,"

"Yeah, so how long have you been there for?"

"About 2 to 3 hours,"

"Learning anything?"

"Yeah, and its mostly from Sidney,"
Just as I say that I see Sidney at the glass.

"Hold on Vette,"
I cover my mouth.

"You wanna join us?"Sidney asks.

"Why?"

"Just for a friendly game,"

"I can't play a game. i'm still new at it,"

"Come on, get out here,"

"I gotta go get my skates,"

"Meet on the ice,"Sidney says as I get up from the chair.

"I'm about to play my first hockey game,"I say to Vette.

"Yours skating with them?"Vette says.

"they are normal people Vette,"

"Not to me they arent,"

"I gotta go,"

Hanging up, I head down the hall way as I hear, "Aaylah wait,"
I turn around to see a shoe but still uniformed Evgeni.

"What are you doing Geno?"I ask.

"Me going side with you,"Evgeni says.

"Ok, you going to play game with me too?"

"Yes,"

"Good,"
I then open the door as Geno stood behide as I walk over to my car.
Opening the back door, I grab my bag.
Then I walk across the lot again as I walk in with Evgeni behide me.

"Ready for this game?"I ask.

"Yep. Never face woman before,"geno says.

"I'm not very good, so,"

"You will be better. We get into skates in chairs by rink,"

"Ok,"

We both walk back into the arena as Geno hops into a chair as I open my bag and take out my skates.
Placing my bag on a chair, I get in the chair beside Geno and change from my shoes to my skates.

"Nice skates,"Geno says.

"Thank you,"I say as I get up and walk over to my bag.
Placing my shoes in, I take off my guards and place them in as well.

As Geno got on the ice, I remember i dont have a stick.
Turning around, I see Sidney standing there.

"Hey,"I say.

"Here, you can use one of mine,"Sidney says as i put on my gloves.

"Thanks,"
I grab it as I follow him onto the ice.

"So your joining us?"Colby asks.

"I'm going to try to,"I say.

"this will help you all out, this game will,"an older man says.

"Now whats teams?"a tall, guy that had 11 on his back.

After a few minutes, I move over to be on Colby's team. I was facing Sidney's team, which Geno wasn't apart of.

"Ok, who wants to face off? i'm not cause i suck,"Colby says.
I never dont it.

"You faceoff,"Geno says to me.

"You sure?"I ask.

"Yeah, Aaylah,"Colby says.
Sighing, i skate to center as I was met by Sidney.

"You ready?"Sidney asks.

"I guess i am,"I say.
Then the older man drops the puck as I moved my stick.
I then pass it as I begin to skate to get ahead of them as someone passes it to me as I shot it into the net, square on.

"Yeah Aaylah!!! You go girl!!"Colby says as I smile.
This was fun.
I skate pass Sidney as he was smiling.

The game when on as a whistle then blew.

"Game over. Winners are Jordan's team,"
I smile.

"Good job Aaylah. You did well,"Colby says.

"Thank you,"I say as i skate over to Sidney.

"Was that your first game?"Sidney asks.

"Was I that bad?"I ask.

"No, you did very well for your first game against professional hockey players,"

"Thank you Sidney,"I say.

"Your welcome,"
Then I watch the older man walk over to us.

"You did well. I'm Michael Therrin by the way. How long have you been playing?"he asks.

"I've been only playing actually 3 weeks in Sunday,"

"Really? and your that good?"

"I've been praticing alot,"

"Your doing well. Whats your name by the way?"

"Aaylah,"

"Aaylah ok, I'll keep your name in mine. Thanks for playing the game,"

"No problam,"
He then skates away.

"He's nice,"I say.

"Yeah,"Sidney says.
As I was about to say something else, i could hear my cell phone ring from the sidlines.

"Damn it,"I say as I skate as fast as I could to the walk away.
Climbing up one step, I grab my phone from my bag.

"Hello,"I say.

"Where are you?"Kim demands.

"Screw you!"
Closing the phone, i place it back in.

"kim again?"Sidney asks.

"Yeah,I dont want to deal with her right now,"
Kim always ruins everything.

"I understand, well i'm going to go and change. Want me to meet you back here or you come into the locker room?"Sidney asks.

"Meet me back up here,"

"Alright see you in a few,"

He walks to the back with the rest of the guys as I take off my skates.
Placing the guards on them, i replace them into the bag to get my shoes out.
As I get them out, I zip the bag shut as I get my shoes on.
After awhile, I watch as Sidney comes back out.

"You got everything?"Sidney asks.

"Yep,"I say as i get down and get beside him as we begin to walk.
As he was about to say something, a phone goes off.

"It's mine,"Sidney says as we stop, so he could answer it.

"Hello, Lauren how are you? Your flying into tonight? 7 yeah i can pick you up. Can't wait to see you. Bye,"
He closes his phone as we begin walking again.

"Who was that? Sorry I'm being nosey,"I say.

"Your ok, it was my cousin Lauren. Shes coming into tonight from being in a boarding school in Sweden,"

"Thats nice thats shes coming in,"

"She's been gone for awhile, so I get to see her in an hour,"
sidney was really excited to see his cousin but i wasn't excited to see mine at all.
